About Lecturer.
Saheli Hettiarachchi is a dedicated PLC Lecturer at the Sri Lanka Institute of Robotics (SLIR), where she mentors students in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), industrial automation, and control systems. With a strong foundation in instrumentation and automation, she specializes in PLC programming, SCADA, HMI, and embedded system development, equipping students with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical skills.
She holds a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Hons.) in Instrumentation and Automation from the University of Colombo and has earned a Certificate in PLC Programming & Automation from SLIR. Her expertise includes PLC programming (Ladder Logic), industrial automation, pneumatics, Arduino-based control systems, FPGA, and software tools like Atmel Studio, SimuleIDE, and Octave.
Her project portfolio includes automated water-filling systems, PLC-based water level detectors, smart elevator control systems, automated pick-and-place systems, and SCADA-based ventilation control solutions, showcasing her ability to develop real-world industrial automation applications.
At SLIR, Saheli is committed to bridging the gap between academia and industry, ensuring her students are well-prepared for the evolving field of industrial automation and control systems.
