P. H. Roshan Premarathne is an experienced Robotics and Automation Lecturer with over 12 years of expertise in robotics, embedded systems, and PLC-based industrial automation. As the Directing Manager of the Sri Lanka Institute of Robotics (SLIR), he plays a pivotal role in shaping the institute’s vision, curriculum, and training programs to equip students with cutting-edge technological skills.
Roshan holds a BEng (Hons.) in Electronic Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University, providing him with a strong foundation in computer programming, industrial automation, and embedded system development. His expertise spans PLC programming, HMI and SCADA system design, industrial project development, and web development, making him a versatile professional in both software and hardware automation domains.
Throughout his career, Roshan has mentored students in robotics, PLC automation, and embedded system design, guiding them through real-world industrial applications. His hands-on teaching approach ensures that students gain practical experience in developing automation systems, designing industrial control interfaces, and implementing embedded technology solutions.
As the Directing Manager of SLIR, Roshan is dedicated to advancing technological education in Sri Lanka. He continuously works on expanding the institute’s capabilities, integrating industry-relevant technologies, and fostering innovation. His leadership and technical expertise make him a driving force in bridging the gap between academia and industry, ensuring students are well-prepared for the evolving world of robotics and automation.
