About Lecturer.
Chamara Jayasundara is a PLC Lecturer at the Sri Lankan Institute of Robotics (SLIR), where he mentors students in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), automation, and industrial control systems. With a strong background in instrumentation and automation, he specializes in PLC programming, panel board wiring, communication systems, and industrial automation technologies.
He is currently pursuing a BET (Hons.) degree at the University of Colombo and has obtained a Certificate in PLC Programming and Automation from SLIR. His technical expertise includes PLC programming (Ladder Diagram, FBD, STL using Step 7 MicroWIN), HMI and SCADA design (TIA Portal v15), microcontroller programming, Android development, and VFD control (Delta).
Beyond his role as a lecturer, Chamara has worked on various industrial automation projects, including production conveyor systems, elevator control systems, product sorting systems, and SCADA-integrated liquid boiling systems. His hands-on experience extends to developing GSM-based security systems and resistor color code calculators, demonstrating his ability to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical applications.
At SLIR, Chamara is committed to equipping students with industry-relevant automation skills, ensuring they gain a solid understanding of PLC-based control systems and industrial automation technologies. His passion for innovation and practical learning makes him a valuable mentor in the field of industrial automation and control engineering.
